tekVizion Debunks Myth Of The ‘Killer App’
Book Provides Innovative Ideas Indicating Killer
App is Unique to Each Market
RICHARDSON, TX (Oct. 5, 2004) – tekVizion™
PVS, Inc., the new standard for systems integrators, announced
today the release of their new book, Vizionary Services, to debut
at 2004 Fall VON, which provides innovative ideas for service
providers to bundle and market new services to their specific
market segments.
tekVizion defines “killer app” as a service that
helps individuals work more efficiently, better manage their communications,
and make staying in touch a seamless part of their lives. tekVizion
uses its book to help demonstrate how a “killer app”
is different for each person, depending on the individual’s
needs – both personally and professionally.
“With the telecommunications industry hurtling toward next-generation
networks, service providers have been forced to focus on the technology
and often struggle on how to apply the technology to generate
additional revenue,” said Terri Griffin, tekVizion president.
“But unless they solve that issue at the outset, they’ll
be less successful in recouping their investments, much less generating
additional sales and profits.”
From concept through development, testing, integration, deployment,
and support, tekVizion specializes in helping service provider
and enterprise network operators develop next-gen services that
enhance revenues and/or efficiency.
Combining a thorough grounding in these technologies with a hefty
dose of creativity and marketing, tekVizion compiled a list of
99 service innovations intended to spark readers’ own imaginations.
This list grew out of some of the service marketing concepts the
firm has already developed for clients, some of which tekVizion
is demonstrating at its booth (No. 504) at Fall VON.
One example sales people might think is a killer app is “CRM
Me,” an enhancement to the “Meeting Notes” service
outlined on page 28. “Meeting Notes” enables subscribers
to dial an access code on their cell phones to record notes from
conversations they had while not at their desks, before they forget
important details. The service will then send the recorded message
to the subscriber’s email address, along with the Caller
ID, date and time. “CRM Me” will recognize an incoming
caller who is listed in a sales database and automatically bring
the caller’s entry up in order to prompt the sales professional
to record notes from the call. The service can be configured to
bring up the entry on the subscriber’s PDA when they are
away from their desk.
Another service targeted at highly mobile workers is “Personal
Assistant” on page 29. Integrated with the subscriber’s
calendar, this service will call the subscriber when it is time
for a conference or other scheduled call. The service gives the
subscriber the option to connect with the scheduled call (automatically
entering the conference ID if needed), record a message to be
sent to the other party, decline the call or be prompted again
in a few minutes.
“While technology is critical, it’s really only the
means to an end,” Griffin points out. “That end is
greater profits for service providers or a much more efficient
workforce for an enterprise. To achieve that end, technology and
creativity must work in tandem as demonstrated in Vizionary Services.”
