Convedia Becomes Premier
Tenant in tekVizion Labs
Leading Vendor Makes Media Server Available for Interoperability
Testing
SUPERCOMM – Chicago, Illinois (June 6, 2005)
– Convedia Corporation and tekVizion™ PVS, Inc., the
new standard for systems integration, announced today that Convedia
has signed an agreement to become a Premier Tenant in tekVizion
Labs™, the first lab of its kind offering third-party certification
and testing for Voice over IP (VoIP) products and services.
“Premier Tenants” are vendors that provide their
products to tekVizion Labs to allow them to be used in certification
testing performed by tekVizion Labs and/or to make them available
to other vendors and service providers for remote testing. Premier
Tenant status significantly enhances the vendor’s test capacity
by turning tekVizion Labs into an extension of the vendor’s
own test facilities.
Convedia’s award-winning family of carrier-class IP Media
Servers reduce capital and ongoing operational costs by consolidating
the functions of traditional announcement and recording servers,
interactive voice response units (IVR/VRU), audio/video conference
bridges, voice mail servers, and speech platforms onto a single
shared media processing platform. Convedia works closely with
leading network equipment providers, application developers, and
system integrators to deliver some of the industry’s most
innovative and cost-effective network and enhanced service solutions
for service provider and large enterprise customers.
tekVizion Labs offers several types of testing services involving
both remote and on-site testing at tekVizion Labs. Remote testing
can be used for pre-certification or ad-hoc test scenarios, whereas
formal certification is conducted on-site at tekVizion Labs by
tekVizion engineers. Certification can be provided between two
products or in a multi-product solution. All lab services are
available to both vendors and service providers.
“tekVizion Labs is fulfilling a vital need in the industry
by offering a facility for service providers, as well as other
vendors, to obtain independent, third-party validation of interoperability
and product performance”, said Grant Henderson, executive
vice president of marketing and strategy at Convedia Corporation.
“tekVizion and Convedia share a common vision and commitment
to help application developers and service providers leverage
the power of VOIP to drive costs out of their networks and deploy
new productivity enhancing, highly differentiated services to
their customers.
“As a leader in the market for next-generation IP media
servers, Convedia is an important addition to the labs,”
said Terri Griffin, tekVizion’s chief operating officer.
“We are pleased to have them as a Premier Tenant, and offer
Convedia media servers as a versatile media processing resource
available to tekVizion Lab customers”.
Convedia and tekVizion also announced today that the companies
will be demonstrating next-generation applications which were
developed by tekVizion and utilize Convedia’s media server.
The demonstrations will take place in Convedia’s booth #64005.
Potential customers of tekVizion Labs can request testing via
the tekVizion Labs website (www.tekVizionlabs.com)
or by contacting the program director, Jerry Mistrot. The tekVizion
Labs website allows anyone to register to be notified when new
Premier Tenants join the lab, when products are certified, and
when new services are offered by the Labs.
