Systems Integration Expertise Makes Live Converged Services Demo Possible at Spring VON Conference

tekVizion to Show Integrated Services for Commercial, Residential, Enterprise Markets

RICHARDSON, TX (March 01, 2005) – tekVizion™ PVS, Inc., the new standard for systems integration, announced today it will be demonstrating multiple converged services live during 2005 Spring VON, March 7-10 in San Jose, CA.

The demonstrations will take place at the tekVizion booth, No. 307.

“Take away all the VoIP hype, and what network operators really want is billable integrated services they can take to market quickly and cost-effectively, knowing that their converged networks are still reliable,” said Terri Griffin, tekVizion president. “Achieving this isn’t simply a matter of adding VoIP equipment or software to the network. It takes in-depth systems integration expertise to transform technology into revenue-generating converged services.”

tekVizion is using its core capabilities and expertise in designing, integrating, and testing multi-vendor, next generation solutions to demonstrate innovative service bundles for enterprise, commercial, and residential markets.

Below are the service bundles tekVizion will be demonstrating at the show.

  • Enterprise Service Bundle for Businesses
    • Hosted IP Centrex services
    • E! Alert provides an IT manager with a faster, more efficient way to let enterprise workers know about service outages or potential threats such as an email virus. Workers use a custom portal to indicate how they would like to be contacted in the case of an E! Alert, based on the severity of the alert.
    • Personal Assistant is a Find-Me/Follow-Me application that provides call screening by intercepting calls and prompting the user to record their name and nature of their call. In addition to the call treatment options traditionally supported by Find-Me/Follow-Me, Personal Assistant also allows the subscriber to record and send a personal voice message back to the caller in real time.
    • Location-Based Routing, integrated with Personal Assistant, allows users to dynamically change how their calls are routed to them based on their physical location within the enterprise.
    • A user friendly, custom portal developed by tekVizion will be used to provision and control all of these services including IP Centrex, E! Alert, Personal Assistant and Location Based Routing.
  • Residential Service Bundle for Families
    • Hosted Residential VoIP
    • Coaches List gives a coach or parents the ability to define and manage a special list of contacts for the team. In the event of foul weather or other schedule changes, the coach simply accesses the application and records the message which is then sent to individuals via their preferred method such as a phone call, email or SMS.
    • With Teen Talk Time Plus parents can control their teenager’s phone, Internet usage and video privileges, including setting access times or temporarily disabling one or more services. The service also allows parents to control and review Video on Demand purchases.
    • A user friendly, custom portal developed by tekVizion will be used to provision and control all of these services.
  • Commercial Service Bundle for Retail
    • With Find a Specialist customers use an in-store, touch-screen kiosk to locate remote specialists to answer their product questions. This function is controlled via an ACD application server, and an IP-based video call is used to allow face-to-face communications between the customer and the off-site specialist.
    • The retail kiosk can also be used to access product information such as specifications from the manufacturer. During the video call between the remote specialist and the customer, the specialist can “push” this information to be displayed on the kiosk.

“The technology and products are available right now to develop and deploy any or all of these next-gen services,” Griffin added. “Service providers are often held back by the complexity of integration, interoperability, and customization of new or existing services. This is where tekVizion can help service providers overcome the technical challenges of bringing new services to market.”
