Ulticom Partners Bring IMS Solutions to Market Faster
Ulticom Partners Bring IMS Solutions to Market
Faster New Alliance Program Formed to Accelerate Deployment
of Converged Networks and Services; Seven Industry Leaders
Join as First Members
Mt. Laurel, NJ, January 31, 2006 – Ulticom®, Inc.
(NASDAQ: ULCM), the premier provider of network signaling solutions
today announced the launch of its new strategic alliance initiative.
The Ulticom Alliance Program brings together innovative industry
leaders to help system and service providers adopt the IP Multimedia
Subsystem (IMS) as their next generation infrastructure for the
delivery of new subscriber service offerings.
As demand for IMS-based applications increases, Network Equipment
Providers (NEP) and System Integrators (SI) are taking a modular
approach to building IMS elements, which requires the integration
of many third-party hardware and software components. Integration
of these components is a major undertaking for NEPs and SIs,
because uncertainties exist with respect to their compatibility
and collective performance as they are integrated into an overall
solution. The Ulticom Alliance Program helps reduce time to market
and provides assurance that the end solution will be successful.
Ulticom’s Signalware® products provide an integrated
signaling platform that supports the development and deployment
of carrier-grade applications based on SS7, SIGTRAN, SIP and
Diameter protocols. The Ulticom Alliance Program targets hardware
and operating system platform vendors, Independent Software Vendors
(ISVs) and delivery vendors that add value to the Signalware
product portfolio. Specific benefits of the program include interoperability
and benchmark testing for Signalware-based solutions, along with
targeted joint sales and marketing collaboration.
“All segments of the communications value chain are demanding
their vendors widen their expertise by leveraging partnerships,” said
Osman Duman, vice president of marketing at Ulticom. “The
Ulticom Alliance Program was created to build and sustain the
key relationships necessary to design, develop, integrate and
manage innovative communication services.”
Seven companies – Sun Microsystems, Open Cloud, tekVizion
PVS, jNetX, GoAhead Software, Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions
and Kabira Technologies – have already joined the program,
bringing their industry knowledge and domain expertise to Ulticom
customers worldwide.
Sun Microsystems
"The Ulticom Alliance Program strengthens
Ulticom's position as a partner in the Sun Partner Advantage
Program for ISVs Industry Advantage Track, providing additional
focus on customer-driven signaling platform requirements, and
joint delivery and selling opportunities," said Stephen
Borcich, vice president, Partner Marketing, Sun Microsystems. "Together,
our two companies provide NEPs and SIs with a powerful combination—Signalware
on the Solaris 10 Operating System for SPARC and very soon on
x64—on which to deploy their solutions."
Open Cloud
“Open Cloud Rhino JAIN SLEE takes full advantage
of Signalware's capabilities and support for global variants
and Ulticom’s
position as a market leader in signaling deployments,” said
Peter Barralet, CEO at Open Cloud. “The Ulticom Alliance
Program provides us the products, tools and support we need to
develop and test Signalware resource adapters, providing a proven,
standards-based, converged services delivery architecture to
service providers, NEPs and SIs.”
tekVizion PVS
“Ulticom’s alliance program enhances tekVizion’s ability
to demonstrate, test and deliver Signalware-enabled IMS and converged network
applications to both our customers and theirs,” said Sach Vengurlekar,
tekVizion’s chief executive officer. “We are pleased to be a part
of this new program and to offer this expanded domain expertise to our customers.”
GoAhead Software
“Ulticom Signalware and GoAhead SelfReliant are complimentary
technologies that enable highly available IMS services,” said
Jim Ewel, GoAhead CEO. “GoAhead is excited to join the
Ulticom Alliance Program and work towards product compatibility,
adding more value to GoAhead’s carrier-grade, application
ready platform, which is rapidly gaining momentum in the marketplace.”
jNetX
“Signalware provides a flexible and dependable signaling platform for
the N(x) convergent service platform,” said Matthieu Loreille, marketing
director at jNetX. “We’re happy to participate in an alliance program
such as Ulticom’s that offers us the world-class support needed to tailor
N(x) in accordance with the network signaling requirements of our customers.”
Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions
“Our line of PCI, PCI-X
and PCI Express expansion chassis enables cost effective, incremental
growth of SS7 links when the board slot capacity of a server
is surpassed,” said
Jessica Isquith, vice president, Carlo Gavazzi Computing Solutions. “Ulticom's
alliance program enables our joint customers to fully leverage
Signalware’s unparalleled scalability with these validated
expansion options across a broad range of computing platforms.”
Kabira Technologies
"Ulticom and Kabira share a similar
goal: providing scalable, highly available solutions enabling
converged communications services," said Doug Ehrenreich,
VP Business Development at Kabira. "Through Ulticom's alliance
program, Kabira can combine the best-in-class Signalware IMS
protocols with our high-performance Transaction Switch to deliver
a reliable platform for building and deploying real-time, converged
network charging, authentication and messaging solutions."
